Odd, how many will judge a book by its cover.

So, I was sitting here, thinking about what to post first, and what should pop into my mind, but how so many people seem to be able to judge something (not necessarily a book, which may have been implied by the title) by its name, or its general look, or even its literal cover. Now, I do not judge people who do this. I do it, I do it all the time with titles such as Twilight, a series of books which in the past and the present I have and am refused and refusing to read. Why is this, you might ask? Well, how i figure it, anything that completely trashes the classic myth of vampires and werewolves, and turns them into nothing but angsty reflections of teenagers.
Now, if you haven't realized this yet, that entire rant was extremely presumptuous, no matter what I have heard about Twilight, and yet I could go on a rant about those books for so long that it will probably make it onto this blog.
Anyway, that was a bit of a tangent, so let's get back to the point. So, big question, is it wrong to judge a "book" by its cover? I mean, the only way you could avoid doing that is to just read everything that you are tempted not to, and I'll bet that if you did that, you would find that the majority of the things that you were tempted not to do or see or read would actually be something that you would in fact not enjoy doing or seeing or reading, and so the popular saying "don't judge a book by its cover" could be deemed irrational due to the fact that the majority of the "book judging" would be correct.
In conclusion, I leave you with this. If anyone is actually reading this, I would encourage you to post in the comments your opinions on whether or not it is ok to judge a book by its cover.
